FAQs
General Questions
What makes Ciani Roots Medical different from other hair clinics?
Ciani Roots Medical takes a personalized, medically focused approach to non-surgical hair restoration and regenerative skin care. Rather than relying on a single treatment, we evaluate each patient's concerns and develop individualized recommendations. Our care combines clinical expertise, advanced technologies, and ongoing support.
Who can benefit from your treatments?
Our hair restoration consultations are designed for individuals experiencing thinning, shedding, or changes in hair density. These concerns may be associated with hereditary hair loss, hormonal changes, postpartum shedding, certain medications, medical conditions, or other factors.
Treatment suitability depends on your individual health history, examination, and the underlying cause of your concerns.
Are your treatments surgical?
Our hair restoration services focus on non-surgical options. Some treatments, such as PRP injections and microneedling, are minimally invasive. Your provider will explain the procedure, potential discomfort, risks, and recovery considerations before treatment.
Hair Restoration
What causes hair loss or thinning?
Hair loss may be influenced by genetics, hormonal changes, stress, nutrition, certain medications, medical conditions, and scalp health. In many cases, multiple factors contribute to changes in hair density. A professional evaluation helps identify potential causes and guide your treatment plan.
How does the natural hair growth cycle affect results?
Hair grows in cycles that include active growth, transition, and resting phases. Because follicles are not all in the same phase at once, changes in hair density and growth often become noticeable gradually rather than immediately.
What is PRP hair restoration?
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy uses a concentrated portion of your own blood containing platelets. It is introduced into targeted areas of the scalp as part of a treatment approach intended to support follicle health and hair growth.
Response varies, and PRP is not appropriate for every cause of hair loss.
What is regenerative cell therapy?
Regenerative approaches use specialized biological materials or technologies intended to support tissue and follicle function. Ciani Roots Medical evaluates these options within an individualized hair restoration plan.
The specific procedure, evidence, regulatory status, risks, and expected outcomes should be reviewed with your provider before treatment.
What is KeraLase® hair restoration?
KeraLase® combines laser-based scalp treatment with a specialized topical formulation designed to support scalp and hair health.
At Ciani Roots Medical, KeraLase® treatments are available at our Vacaville location. Consultations are available in Vacaville, Alamo, and virtually.
What is scalp microneedling?
Scalp microneedling uses controlled, tiny needle punctures to stimulate the skin's natural repair response. It may be included in a personalized hair restoration plan, sometimes alongside other therapies.
What is scalp micropigmentation?
Scalp micropigmentation, or SMP, is a cosmetic procedure that places specialized pigment in the scalp to create the visual appearance of hair follicles or greater density. It does not regrow hair but may help camouflage thinning areas or certain scars.
Why is consistency important during treatment?
Hair restoration is generally a gradual process. Following your recommended appointment schedule, monitoring progress, and maintaining an appropriate home-care routine can help your provider assess your response and adjust the treatment plan when necessary.
How soon will I see hair restoration results?
The timeline varies based on the cause of hair loss, the selected treatment, and your individual response. Since hair grows in cycles, visible changes may take several months. Your provider can discuss realistic expectations during your consultation.
Skin Rejuvenation
What skin concerns do you treat?
Our regenerative skin rejuvenation consultations may address concerns involving uneven tone, texture, pigmentation, visible signs of aging, and overall skin quality. Treatment recommendations are based on your skin assessment and individual goals.
What is LASEmd® Ultra?
LASEmd® Ultra is a laser technology used in skin rejuvenation treatments. Depending on your skin concerns, it may be considered for improving the appearance of texture, tone, and certain pigmentation concerns. Your provider will determine whether it is appropriate for you.
Can PRP be used for skin rejuvenation?
PRP may be incorporated into selected skin rejuvenation protocols, including treatments involving microneedling. Your provider will discuss the available options, supporting evidence, and whether PRP is suitable for your individual needs.
Will I need more than one skin treatment?
Some concerns may benefit from a series of treatments, while others may be addressed through a different schedule or combination of services. Your recommended plan will depend on your skin condition, goals, and response to treatment.
Consultations & Financing
What can I expect during my consultation?
Your consultation begins with a discussion of your concerns, goals, health history, and previous treatments. Depending on your needs, your provider may recommend a scalp examination, diagnostic assessment, or skin imaging to help guide a personalized plan.
You'll also have an opportunity to discuss available treatments, expected timelines, and next steps.
How should I prepare for my hair consultation?
It may be helpful to note when you first noticed hair changes, whether you have a family history of hair loss, any recent health changes, and the medications or supplements you take. Bring information about previous hair restoration treatments, if applicable.
Do you offer virtual consultations?
Virtual hair restoration consultations are available. Some assessments or treatments may still require an in-person appointment. Contact our team to discuss the most appropriate consultation option.
